Tending the Grove

Our story did not start in a boardroom, it sparked in our hearts, and was kindled in connection.
It was woven, from the living tapestry of community bonds and a shared vision of hope, resilience, and reclamation.

In 2023, we saw our people stretched thin—tending to the layered needs of our communities and ecosystems, ravaged by wildfire, drought, and uncertainty.
We saw nonprofit leaders overburdened, navigating burnout and the weight of unseen labor, facing structural gaps, scarce resources, and a rapidly shifting funding landscape.

In this, we heard a call for help—clear, powerful, and urgent.
And we chose to answer.

We turned to the earth for guidance, and inspiration.

We found both, beneath the surface. There, in the shadowed soil, the mycelium spoke through unseen networks of mutual aid reciprocity, and collaboration.

These sacred webs of connection nurture our Ancient Redwood Groves, just as we seek to tend the groves of our communities and the ecosystems they support.

Thus began our great work, of weaving.

We reached out in connection, we listened to the needs of our collectives and met them with tools, resources, and care. Empowering our local changemakers with the support and systems they needed to take root and spark change wherever it dared to grow, nurturing resilience in the people, cultures, and ecosystems that make this place so sacred.

Our story is still unfolding.

We stand alongside our local grassroots, nonprofits, cultural stewards and change makers, the grove we seek to nourish.

Each fire kindled, each thread woven, nourishes the collective ecology of a future rooted in resilience and equity.

We carry this fire with care — and pass it forward with purpose.
